We emigrated here from the south-east coast of England in 1990, with our two children and four dogs. We spent about three months looking for a property. We started building our family home in January 1991 and moved in, in March, adding the holiday cottage in 2004.

Eric’s background is in engineering and forestry. He retired from the RAC five years ago. Now he does community car driving and maintains the properties.

My background is in catering and now I work as a home Carer, with a love of gardening, our two dogs and three ponies.  Both children have fled the nest and between them, we have five lovely grandchildren.

Alba Ben View has been running since we built it in 2004. We are conveniently situated just off the A82 Glasgow to Inverness Road, on the B8004 just down from the world-famous Commando Memorial.  The view from the cottage kitchen and sitting room windows looks into the north face of Ben Nevis and Aonach Mor, where the cable car takes you up the mountain to the restaurant.
